ISO 9001:2015 structure - source ISO

ISO 9001:2015, the new edition of the Quality Management System (QMS) international standard, has been published by ISO on September 23, 2015.

The standard introduces some relevant changes, and is recast in 10 clauses.

The "Risk based thinking" principle, that means the assessment of risks (and opportunities) along all organization processes, is a key value of the new edition; this principle is already a requirement in the EN 9100 family - aerospace series.

The Quality Manual and the mandatory documented procedures requirement has been withdrawn; the 4.4 pt. specifies that the organization shall maintain "documented information" as being necessary for the effectiveness of the quality management system; this allows to better tailor the QMS also on the needs of very small organizations.

The standard underlines the awareness principle: to undestand the organization and its context, and the needs and expectation of the interested parties, and of the personnel on their role and impact on the effectiveness and result of the processes.

The certified organizations shall perform the transition of the QMS to the ISO 9001:2015 standard within 2018.

ARES supports organization for the transition to the new edition, for personnel training, and, of course, to implement a new QMS.
